1 amazing welcoming to the HCU Network USA to Firstplay!
Last week, we were truly delighted and honoured to host Danae Bartke, Executive Director of the HCU Network, at our Promin premises. Her visit was an incredible opportunity not only to connect in person but also to showcase the work we do to support metabolic communities worldwide, particularly through our specially curated low protein meals. For us, every visit from a leader in the metabolic and low protein community is both a privilege and a moment to reflect on the purpose and impact of our work. Danae’s presence underscored the importance of collaboration, advocacy, and shared dedication to improving lives.
During her time with us, Danae had a full tour of our facilities, starting with our bakery. Here, she witnessed firsthand how our breads are carefully crafted with attention to both taste and nutritional requirements. From the initial mixing of ingredients to the final baked loaves, she saw the meticulous care that goes into producing each batch of low protein bread. Following the bakery tour, she explored our pasta production line, where precision and quality control are paramount. Watching our volumetric filling machines in action was particularly exciting, as it demonstrated how technology and expertise come together to create products that are safe, nutritious, and enjoyable for the metabolic community.
However, what made the visit truly special was the opportunity for Danae to meet our team. Behind every product is a group of passionate colleagues who not only believe deeply in their work but also in its purpose. They are committed to ensuring that every individual who relies on low protein meals has access to products that make life easier, healthier, and more enjoyable. Seeing the dedication of our staff, from production to quality control, was a highlight of Danae’s visit, and it reinforced how teamwork and shared values drive our mission forward.
Lunch during the visit was a simple yet delicious treat that highlighted the very products we discussed. Danae enjoyed a Violife cheese toastie on Promin Low Protein Farmhouse Bread, paired with a fresh, colorful salad made from Violife Greek cheese and cherry tomatoes. The meal was not only a demonstration of the quality and flavor of our low protein products but also a moment of informal conversation where ideas and experiences could be shared in a relaxed setting. It was amazing to see how a thoughtful, well-prepared meal could spark discussion and further connection between advocates and producers in the metabolic community.
The discussions during Danae’s visit were particularly inspiring. We talked about her ongoing advocacy work across the USA and her vision for ensuring that every state fully supports the needs of the low protein community. Danae shared stories of families, patients, and healthcare providers who benefit from her efforts, and we were able to reflect on how our products and initiatives can complement her mission. The conversation was rich, forward-looking, and deeply motivating, highlighting the importance of partnerships that cross continents and combine different forms of expertise for the benefit of metabolic patients worldwide.
Hosting Danae Bartke was more than a routine visit—it was a reminder of why we do what we do. Every loaf of bread, every carefully measured portion, and every conversation we have about low protein nutrition is part of a larger mission to improve lives, support communities, and empower those living with metabolic disorders. Thank you, Danae, for taking the time to visit us, for sharing your insights, and for strengthening the bonds between our organizations. We look forward to continued collaboration and to working together toward a world where every individual with metabolic needs has access to the resources and support they deserve.
The day left everyone feeling energized, inspired, and proud of the work we do. From the team at Promin to our friends at the HCU Network USA, it was a perfect example of how shared values and mutual respect can lead to meaningful action. Here’s to many more collaborations and visits that connect us with the incredible advocates, patients, and families who motivate us every single day.
